I want to say thank you to everyone who helped me get out of jail. We did raise some money for MDA with your help. If you wanted to help out MDA but forgot to donate last week, you are still able to donate using the link on our webpage. For those of you who are unfamiliar with our website, you should check it out. The address is www.FlorenceCoLibrary.org. If you want to donate to MDA, all you need to do is click on the picture of me behind bars and then you will find a link to donate using a credit card.
Have you received a telephone call from Cid these past few days? Don’t forget, it is Amnesty Month during August. You only have a couple of weeks left to bring in all those missing and late items from the John C. Fremont Library. Hand-deliver the items to a librarian and your fines will disappear like magic. Remember, our magic does have some limitations, if you really lost the book and cannot find it, or it was damaged in some way, you will have a replacement fee to pay. (Kids, come in and ask about our “read-it-off” program.) If you handed in the missing items before August and you still have late fees on your account, speak to one of the librarians and we can make the late fees disappear as well, but you need to talk to one of us and request that we forgive those fines. Amnesty Month magic is not automatic on all accounts in the system, it only works if you come in and make a personal request. Our magic does not work on material put in the drop box or left on the counter; you must talk with one of us.
Are you interested in being more involved with the John C. Fremont Library District? We recently had a spot on our Board of Trustees come open. You can find out more about what you need to do to apply for the position at the library or in the classified section of this fine paper.
Embark on your dreams,
Tabby Selakovich
