Meet Our Staff
Ruth Mahaney
Library Director
- A Colorado native, she has lived in Sugar City and Colorado Springs, among others. She now lives in Pueblo.
- She has four grown children and four cats. The cats live with her; the kids are on their own.
- She enjoys spending time with her family and friends, reading, going for walks and gardening.
Gypsy Kelso
Assistant Director
- Originally from Denver, moved down here for the peace and wide open spaces
- Lives in Penrose with husband, three sons, and a large assortment of small pets (dog, guinea pigs, bird, spider, frog, snake, etc)
- Enjoys family time, reading, running, singing, and traveling to beautiful places
Natalia Gray
Library Assistant
- Lives with her husband and 3 sons in Penrose
- Shares her home with a chocolate lab, a courageous cat and Midnight the hamster
- Enjoys cross country skiing, reading and relaxing on a beach in Mexico
Cid Larson
Children's Librarian
- Lives with her husband and her daughter in Florence.
- Loves spending time with her grandson.
- Pets rule at Cid's house; she has 4 cats, 2 dogs, 2 African pigmy frogs and a Beta
- Enjoys skiing, eating great food, spending time with her family, traveling and of course⦠reading
Robin Hohn
Library Assistant
- A Colorado native, she currently lives with her family in Florence.
- Lives in her own personal zoo, that is ruled over by 3 cats, 2 chinchillas, 2 betas, and a very talkative cockatiel. (And thats just the animals that live inside the house.)
- Enjoys spending time with family, reading, doing arts and crafts, watching movies, and just being a kid at heart!
Karen Hixon
Office and Cataloging Services
- Alternately known as Clark Kent, mild mannered librarian in a great rural library
- Lives with friends in the hills
- Walked across the country twice
- Is currently plotting to take over the world (bwaahaha)

Technical Assistant
- Programs as a hobby
- Lives at home with his parents
- In line to rule the world with Karen
